California voters in November will decide whether same-sex couples should have the right to marry, and our friends and enemies are each planning campaigns that will cost an estimated $20 million-plus combined.     As far as I am concerned the people listed as foes are all "People Of The Lie" (read the book by the same name): they profess to support what they really don't support: They claim to love but enact or try to enact laws that would outlaw love, dignity and freedom.

    Let the lgbt community enjoy the same rights as heterosexual marriage. I think the religious right is hypocritical , b/c the bible speaks against divorce and remarriage. I think that threatens marriage more.

    Not all religious organizations have negative feelings about the GLBT community. There are several progressive organizations and congregations working very hard to make substantive changes. And it's happening because we keep at it and refuse to quit. Please don't label all religious communities as anti-GLBT.     Just looking at the length of our foe lists really reinforces my determination to volunteer (as I did) and fight against those groups which always abuse the religious speech, use obsolete, moribund hypocritical argument to uphold insular advantages. The foe list is long and daunting but realistically it informs us that we need to be even stronger, become more orangized, and every participation, donation of individuals would help to counter the other power. For each of us, please think about the campaign as personal issue, as the right, equality for our community. Think about what every single can do and fight! Wish our community and our campaign all the best!

    It's a shame that Christian organizations have such negative feelings for the GLBT community. I was once a member of a fundamentalist church (not listed), who hold homophobic views. ("We love the sinner but hate the sin" - yeah right! They love the sinner until they find out he/she is gay and then want us as far away from them as possible, then gossip about us afterward) I still proclaim my Christianity, my love and devotion to God, but no longer a part of that church. If the money they spent trying to hurt us was used to help the poor, the hungry, the homeless, the lost as Jesus Christ spoke about His followers doing, how much better our country would be, oir world!

    Over half of the foes listed state on their websites that donations to their organizations are "tax-deductible". Considering that their efforts to affect the outcome of a state-wide initiative practically makes them political action committees (PACs) shouldn't someone be looking into whether or not their charitible status should be questioned (and in my opinion REVOKED). Wouldn't that send several of them back to their lairs?

    Not at all surprised that the list against 'what is right' is longer. Although many 'wins' have been earned, the right of equality in marriage and family federal benefits will will continue for a long, long time. I've made donations to several of the FOR list. Will you?
