Cynthia Nixon on New York Disappointment

Emmy-winning Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon is justifiably upset about the failure of the New York senate to pass a marriage equality bill Wednesday. The actress, who has been with her partner, Christine Marinoni, for six years, released the following statement to Advocate.com and SheWired.com:

"The fight for justice is always long and hard, and while this vote was of course extremely disappointing, we now know with certainty who our friends are and who our enemies are. And, trust me, we won't forget it at election time. It's really a terrible shame that many of our legislators could not bring themselves to support a simple matter of fairness and equality, and have betrayed the majority of New Yorkers who believe same-sex marriage should be legalized."

Thanks for speaking out, and even though I do not live in New York the same goes for those who run in California. If you expect to get my vote you had better in regards to the LGBT community be about fairness. Again thanks!

Thank you Cynthia and never give up on the good fight. It will come one of these days, hopefully sooner than later. As well, you are always most welcome to make it legal in Canada and from what I hear New York does recognize out of State marriages.
