TLC's T-Boz is "Strickly Dickly"

TIONNE TBOZ WATKINS NBC PRESS SHOT X390

Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, who rose to fame as a member of the R&B girl group TLC, is firing back at Atlanta-based gossip blogger Sandra Rose for suggesting the singer is gay.

Earlier this week, Rose posted on her blog: “Former TLC member T-Boz spent her New Year weekend bowling with the Traxx Girls lesbuns at 10 Pin Alley at Atlantic Station. Oh, you didn’t hear that T-Boz dumped her linebacker boyfriend Takeo Spikes and tipped over to the other side? Well, you didn’t hear it from me.”

T-Boz was quick to respond — and it took four tweets to do it because of that pesky 140-character limit.

T-Boz tweeted: “do you want me sandra rose...is that it boo? don't try to make me be on your team. I'm strickly dickly”

“I had a great time hosting the party for the guys and the girls and I'm secure in my sexuality enough 2 host parties for anyone...

“…and I was workin’ bitch.

“I have a daughter so watch what you say and don't make up lies.”

T-Boz most recently appeared on last year’s season of Celebrity Apprentice. The 39-year-old singer is expected to release her long-awaited debut solo album in 2010.

I don't care for the way she went about defending her sexuality but I will say I understand why she did it that way. I HATE with a passion who straight men Always ASSume I'm straight and continuously hit on me. I HATE when straight women act as if I'm one of them. I HATE being considered straight when I'm PROUDLY GAY. As much as I HATE being confused for straight, she hates being confused for gay when she was, as many straight people do, just being open enough to have fun with gays. LOTS of straights go to gay bars and events to have fun, and are very secure with who they are like many of us are secure with who we are. SO I hope this doesn't deter her from continuing to go to LGBT events and supporting us and having fun with us. You can rest assured, I don't want you T-Boz. I only love women who love women. I'm STRICTLY CLITLY!!!!!!!

Neither of them is in the right or in the wrong. And I never heard of either of them & why anyone gets all bent out of shape over what someone says in outdated fads of blogs & tweets. But welcome to the USA with freedom of speech. Isn't it sometimes better to exercise our other right to remain silent. Isn't life stressful enough than to waist time getting irked by something so meaningless. & twitter is for High School Girls. A cell phone is a phone. Leave a message or email & i might get back with you.

To clarify - I don't think she's offensive, I just think she's a classless idiot and have no idea why the contents of someone's Twitter account is news.

Oh brother, some of the comments really make me wonder just how thin skinned my beloved gay community is. Grow up folks not everyone is homophobic. In fact her comments make me believe she isn't. She states that she enjoys ALL people regardless of who they are. I will always be amazed how we react to comments taken out of context. TLC was always gay friendly and even did videos early in the AIDS crisis to promote safe sex when most of the straight community ignored it. Please tell me again how awful she is????????? I look forward to hearing her new music. We as a gay community can be extremely judgemental towards others, you would think we would have learned to be just a little more tolerant towards others just like we want tolerance. Spreading lies about people should be the focus of you anger not the fact that she was making sure that the lies were addressed. Again people - grow up.

Really y'all? What did she say that was so offensive? All I picked up on was that she's cool with all kinds of people and isn't a lesbian. Sounds like my kind of breeder...

Does anybody give a rat's winkie whether or not T-Boz is a lesbian? What a presumption on her part to think anybody really cares. A few years from now who will remember her name. Straight, gay, or lesbian: fame is fleeting.

I love this one - since I FINALLY get to use it myself: IT'S NOT WHAT SHE SAID - IT'S HOW SHE SAID IT. Sure, if you're not a lesbian, say you're not. But you don't have to say it like you were just called a fat, talentless sow that no one has ever heard of until you began squealing you're not a lesbian. Oh wait. You ARE a fat, talentless sow that no one has ever heard of until you began squealing you're not a lesbian. I look forward to not buying your upcoming 2010 solo album.

Maybe, StraightSilver, T-Boz has faced this same line of accusation and is just tired of it. Honestly, when I was doing the club scene, there were a lot of straights (male and female) who hung out in gay clubs because they were with friends or co-workers, and enjoyed the shows and music. Did it make for some embarrassing situations when they got hit on by the gays and lesbians? Sure. But they'd only go ballistic when some overly zealous gay or lesbian kept hitting on them when the attention was unwanted. I suppose, StraightSilver, that you've never earned unwanted attention from someone who was mistaken about your sexuality and ever been offended when that person went public with it.
