Bill Clinton Hospitalized

Former president Bill Clinton is recovering from surgery to insert two stents into one of his coronary arteries, his office told reporters on Thursday.

According to a statement, Clinton is "in good spirits." Despite some reports that he was released from Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York, Clinton is scheduled to stay overnight, according to CNN. Stent procedures are done to open blocked arteries. Clinton showed no signs of heart attack or damage, his staff said.

Douglas Band, a counselor to Clinton, added that upon his release, the former president would "continue to focus on the work of his Foundation and Haiti's relief and long-term recovery efforts."

Clinton, 63, had quadruple bypass surgery in 2004 at the same hospital.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was seen leaving the Oval Office earlier on Thursday, but according to ABC News did not seem to be concerned or "in a rush."
