The Smith College senior class was whipped into a frenzy last week with the news that MSNBC host Rachel Maddow would be the commencement speaker. 
 
In the clip below, the women grow increasingly ecstatic as president Carol T. Crist unravels the announcement with incremental clues. 

Maddow, who launched her career on a radio station that serves the Northampton, Mass., area, where Smith is located, will speak at the commencement ceremony on May 16.
