The Clifton Cantonment Board, a group responsible for collecting taxes in Pakistan, hires transgender women to confront negligent taxpayers. Many people within the Pakistani elite view transgender women, known as TGs in Pakistan, as an embarrassment. The Clifton Cantonment Board hires the transgender women hoping their mere presence will pressure people to pay taxes to avoid further confrontations.

Less than 1% of Pakistan's population pays its taxes, including many businesspeople and politicians, according to officials. This results, they say, in substandard government assistance and large debt to countries, such as the United States.
