Glee creator Ryan Murphy has been offered the opportunity to direct a remake of the 1975 musical The Rocky Horror Picture Show, according to entertainment website Deadline.
Murphy's hit series will pay homage to the musical cult film with an episode devoted to its music, which will be broadcast October 26.
The 1975 film, which is still shown as a midnight screening in cinemas around the world, has earned more than $100 million and is considered the longest running theatrical release in film history.
Murphy is expected to begin helming the film adaptation of Larry Kramer's The Normal Heart next spring.
