Glenn Close is returning to film and likely bucking for a sixth Oscar nomination as a woman who dresses as a man in 1890s Ireland in the new film Albert Nobbs.

Close also cowrote the film, which is directed by Rodrigo Garcia (Nine Lives, Mother and Child). Before Close ever appeared on film, she starred in the play The Singular Life of Albert Nobbs -- and scored raves.

Close hasn't been nominated for an Oscar since 1988's Dangerous Liaisons, but since then she's scored three Emmys, one Screen Actors Guild Award, and two Golden Globes.
