Author and pundit Tammy Bruce announced this weekend that she would step down from her advisory post at gay conservative group GOProud.

"If you search GOProud here at the blog you'll see the affection with which I've held both Chris and Jimmy, and I wish them well," she wrote Saturday on her website. "As Independent Conservatives and Tea Party patriots, we have a lot of work to do in the next two years taking our great nation back, and I do look forward to continuing to work with conservatives across the spectrum on the issues with which we all have in common."

GOProud also announced it has added Chris Muth, the former executive director of the American Conservative Union, to its roster. According to Metro Weekly, Muth opposed the effort to pass the Federal Marriage Amendment, and currently serves as the CEO of Citizen Outreach, which aims to educate the public on issues such as Ssocial Security reform, illegal immigration, and government regulation. The organization's website says it explains the issues "in terms the average citizen can understand and act upon."
