Jonathan D. Lovitz, the New York-based actor and model who was dismissed from jury duty after saying discrimination against gays makes him a second-class citizen and therefore he couldn't be impartial, talked to MSNBC's Tamron Hall about the spur-of-the-moment decision that made international headlines.
"I didn't set out to be an activist," he said. "But when it's your turn to say how you really feel, you have to do it."
Lovitz's appearance prompted NewsNation With Tamron Hall's question of the day on MSNBC's website, asking readers if they thought gays and lesbians had a right to be excused from jury duty on the basic on discrimination.
