House ENDA Introduced 

Seen by supporters primarily as an organizing and education tool rather than a viable bill in the Republican-controlled House, the Employment Non-Discrimination Act was introduced Wednesday evening with 111 original cosponsors, Rep. Barney Frank's office confirmed.

That number is slightly less than the 117 original cosponsors in the last congressional session; the bill garnered 203 cosponsors by session's end.

Harry Gural, press secretary for Frank, called the total original cosponsor tally "a very good number, considering huge [Democratic] losses in November."

Three of the 111 cosponsors are Republicans: representatives Todd Russell Platts of Pennsylvania, Ilena Ros-Lehtinen of Florida, and Judy Biggert of Illinois. A Senate version has not yet been introduced.
