Evan Rachel Wood came out as bisexual -- and proud -- in 2011 in an interview with Esquire. But it hasn't always been an easy journey. In anticipation of Bisexual Awareness Week, Wood recently sent a flurry of tweets addressing the depression she has endured and the biphobia she has faced.

Her Twitter mike drop began by tweeting a new Human Rights Campaign report that delineates startling health disparities bisexuals face.

She then broke down bisexual myths about "straight privilege" and addressed being shamed for her bisexuality by both straight and LGBT people.

Her tweets ended on an encouraging note for bisexuals.

Bisexual Awareness Week runs September 20-26.
