In an incident that was caught on tape, a transgender woman was allegedly harassed by city of Des Moines employees in a crowded bar Friday night.
Local WhoTV.com reports that a $100 bet caused a man to walk up to a transgender woman in Z's Bar & Grill and rip her wig off. Witnesses say the people responsible were city employees.
"They thought it was funny, and we don't," said bar manager Sharon Pasutti. "I don't feel that anybody has the right to do that to anybody."
On Monday the city of Des Moines added gender identity to its antidiscrimination policy.
