Partisan politics and unconventional nominees have altered the traditional playbook of presidential nominations in recent terms.
“I strongly support LGBTQ rights and equality. No one should be discriminated against. I do believe that religious liberty, the First Amendment, gay rights, and transgender equality can all coexist," Mace said in 2021.
“I can deal with this; other people shouldn’t have to,” Rep.-elect Sarah McBride told The Advocate in response to criticism.
"All it does is allow these Republicans to go around and bully any woman who isn't wearing a skirt because they think she might not look woman enough," Ocasio-Cortez said.
"There should be no place for hate in America — and yet too many transgender Americans, including young people, are cruelly targeted and face harassment simply for being themselves," Biden said.
The iconoclast opens up about her fears and hopes in the Trump era and why supporting this series is not only important but an act of solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community.
“Why [are we] focusing on singling out one member — one new member, a freshman member of this body now,” Garcia asked.
The Oklahoma U.S. senator accused the media and Joe Biden’s team of not scrutinizing LGBTQ+ members of the administration.
“I will follow the rules as outlined by Speaker Johnson even if I disagree with them,” she said.
The GOP is doubling down on bigotry instead of addressing the concerns of the American people.
“Too many transgender people have been killed just for living as their true, authentic selves,” Rep. Pramila Jayapal said.
Nancy Mace’s proposal to cut bathroom access for trans women in the Capitol is the latest in the building’s long history of excluding women lawmakers.
The abortion bans "undermine the integrity of the medical profession by hamstringing the ability of physicians to provide evidence-based medicine to their patients," a district judge ruled.
