The 14th annual Lambda Literary Awards were presented in New York, and this year's honorees include authors Achy Obejas (Days of Awe), Allan Gurganus (The Practical Heart), and Margaret Cho (for her memoir, I'm the One That I Want). Special awards were presented to author Alexander Chee (for Edinburgh, his novel about pedophilia and its consequences), the Astraea Lesbian Action Foundation for its Writers Fund, and the University of Wisconsin Press.
