British musician Mika has shared a video for "Good Guys," a provocative new single from his fourth album, No Place in Heaven, available June 16.
The song is a bittersweet homage to "heroes dressed up in gold," the men, many of them gay, who inspired the singer growing up. Throughout the tune, Mika name-checks pop star David Bowie, songwriter Cole Porter, poet Walt Whitman, French writer Jean Cocteau, actor James Dean, and others.
The song plaintively asks, "Where have all the gay guys gone?" and also paraphrases Irish writer Oscar Wilde's famous aphorism, "We are all in the gutter but some of us are looking at the stars."
The video finds the handsome singer performing a melancholy dance routine with male and female dancers.
