Chris Kohrs, a San Francisco police officer dubbed the "Hot Cop of Castro" on social media, was arrested Sunday morning for allegedly crashing into two people and running from the scene, according to San Francisco TV station KGO.

Police found the two injured pedestrians and an abandoned orange Dodge Charger at the scene of the accident at Broadway and Montgomery Streets. Both victims were rushed to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Kohrs allegedly ran from the vehicle but was tracked down by police officers and arrested on two felony counts of hit-and-run. It is unknown whether Kohrs was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time. He was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation.

Kohrs became an Internet sensation after photos of the officer on duty went viral on Facebook and in the gay blogosphere. A Facebook fan page established for the officer has over 52,000 likes.

Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call the San Francisco Police Department's anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444.
