Former Glee star Mark Salling has been arrested for possession of child pornography.

Crime Watch Daily first broke the story that Salling was "getting booked in downtown L.A.", with People confirming shortly thereafter.

"[Salling] was taken into custody this morning for possession of child porn," Officer Aaron Jefferson of the Los Angeles Police Department told People.

TMZ reports, LAPD's Internet Crimes Against Children unit obtained a search warrant Tuesday morning for Salling's home in Sunland, California where they found over a thousand images on Salling's computer of "child sexual exploitation."

According to TMZ's sources, an ex-girlfriend of the 33-year-old actor informed authorities of his collection, which is said to contain images of children "significantly younger than 15 and 16 years old."

Salling is best known for playing Noah "Puck" Puckerman on the Fox TV show Glee from 2009-15. The series is lauded for its groundbreaking, inclusive storylines which prominently featured characters from across the LGBT spectrum.
