A Historic Wedding in Los Angeles

The sun was still shining in the sky when longtime lesbian activist Robin Tyler wed Diane Olson, her partner of 15 years, on the steps of the Beverly Hills courthouse at 5:01 p.m. on June 16. The couple, flanked by loved ones, the media, and a handful of naysayers -- whose protests were drowned under a sea of jubilation -- were dressed in complementary cream-colored outfits and held each other close throughout the ceremony.

    Comment:

Congratulations my dear friends Robin and Diane, you're an inspiration to us all. Thank you for all the years of dedication and determination put forth in the fight for marriage equality. Because of you, the dreams of your gay/lesbian brother and sisters to be legally married has come true. This is in deed a historic moment, but, most importantly, it has given hope to our GLBT youth that their dreams of acceptance and equality can come true as well.
