Paleyfest, the annual festival that salutes creative excellence in television, closed out the event's 32nd year with a panel featuring the cast and creators of American Horror Story: Freak Show Sunday at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.

Before the panel began, the cast walked the event's purple carpet, where The Advocate spoke with gay actor Denis O'Hare, who had some passionate words for fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana regarding their recent rant against so-called nontraditional families.

When asked if LGBT people had progressed to the point that we could be portrayed as villains on-screen without fear of perpetuating negative stereotypes, O'Hare -- who played AHS's scheming gay murderer Spalding this season -- responded, "I think as gay people we can be confident enough now to know that we are as multifaceted as anybody else. We are not one thing. We are parents. We are single parents. We are not parents. We are Dolce and Gabbana, who are assholes. You know, we can be anybody. And so, yeah, I think We've reached a point, actually, where we can go ahead and be villains."

"Dolce and Gabbana. Did you hear what they said?" he added. "Fucking idiots. Idiots. Go back home to your mama if that's how you feel."

O'Hare married Hugo Redwood in 2011, and the couple adopted their first child, a son, in 2012.
