Cannes Queer Party 2017
Experience the scene at the American Pavilion's annual Queer Party in Cannes. This year's fete was hosted by actor John Cameron Mitchell of Hedwig and the Angry Inch fame. He directed the glam-rock comedy How to Talk to Girls at Parties, premiering out of competition at Cannes. Queer Party organizers Laurent-Armand Lachance, Monika Skerbelis, and Michael Bremer wanted to instill the party with meaning and political awareness, so they commissioned The Advocate to create a video that played on screens around the event. It featured images of Chechnya protests, Pride parades, a reminder to join the June 11 March on Washington and to donate miles to Rainbow Railroad to help persecuted gay men in Chechnya.
