Jasymne Cannick is the biggest racist I've ever seen. Who honestly counts how many times the words "sex," "black," "African-American," etc. are used in a debate or speech? Her nitpicking and sense of entitlement is appalling. Why separate your issues and even put some on the backburner when they affect us all? I'm not surprised she got only one response to her question -- it's a silly one and not needed. What difference does it make what color our leaders are? Her first question -- what makes an effective leader? -- is the only one that matters. Gays having an effective leader voicing our concerns and desires is all that she should be worried about.

I cannot believe she honestly did not allow a group to come into a community and enlist support for a cause that could surely enrich her life? She turned it down, and also turned that possible happiness down for gays in that district? Why did she take it upon herself to speak for that entire community? I wonder what the community thinks of her? This isn't about equals status as gays and lesbians for her, it is about BLACK gays because that trumps everything. BLACK FIRST...... gay rights and whatever else later.

Honestly, when people see me they know I'm black, they know I'm young, wear glasses, and have a nice smile. I don't broadcast that all day everyday and make it priority number one. I wonder what else this woman has turned down in the name of skin color only? I would love to know what white gays have done to her to have such viciousness thrown in their direction? It is because of white gays who have stood up, stood out, and cheered loud over the decades that she and her group could even have the LGBT Black vote discussion. How many of the people in this group have a white partner or have had white lovers? I just don't understand this woman and her thought process. All of those issues that were received higher than gay marriage are issues that affect our lives, period. All of these issues are intertwined; none should be separate.
