As a heterosexual female i think that Thomas Beatie's story is both inspirational and revolutionary. I was first introduced to Beatie while I was watching Oprah. How stereotypically female of me, i know. Anyways, Beatie was introduced as a transgender male who was pregnant! I think that Beatie's situation is going to force people to come face to face with something that is thought of as taboo in most cultures and, hopefully, spark a revolution of acceptance. My best friend is gay and i would love nothing more than for him to be 100% accepted in this world that only wants to offer him pseudo-rights and call it fair. Beatie's story is offering a chance to open our eyes and re-evaluate what the meaning of "love" is and re-evaluate whether or not there should be restrictions on love. Beatie's situation has nothing to do with politics, the only thing that anyone should be worried about is that there is a baby due in a couple of months. I take my hat off to Thomas Beatie, this man has more courage and heart than anyone I have ever known.
