The Beaties

I am a prior resident of Bend, Ore., and for the life of me can't figure out the problem. Why is this any different than any other couple having a child. Just because Thomas was born Tracey? This is a couple that has made the decision to have a family. I have many gay, lesbian and trans friends and have supported their decisions, I may not identify with their ongoing struggles that they face every day in the society we live in, but that doesn't mean that I have the right to say what is right or wrong. If my husband and I were in that situation we would do the exact same thing, what does it matter how the child gets here as long as she is taken care of by her caring parents and taught tolerence, love and acceptence. In fact, two of my best friends are a lesbian couple with 2 children that are getting married in August and bet your ass, I will be there. I send my prayers and thoughts to the Beaties and wish them much joy in their adventures with parenthood.
