I suppose that I
am not a politically correct gay person, but I was again
dissappointed in the Advocates' stance that no matter what a
person does in their past, being gay should excuse it.
Being gay is not a choice. Being a hustler is. If the
article by Steele and Kennedy was only about the
misplaced stigma society thrusts onto former hustlers, I
would agree, but they didn't. Forgiving someone's past
mistakes is the charitable thing to do, but forgetting
them in applicable circumstances is stupid. Sleezy
politicians are being exposed every day now for taking
personal enrichment from lobbyists who essentially pay
them to vote for their clients' interests. Its easy
money that they will all no doubt in private say they
needed. I want my political representatives to be above
personal greed and easy sell outs. Steele and
Kennedy's justification of a hustler's action through
his need for money and sexual affirmation is the very
reason why Tom Malin would be better suited for a position
not requiring personal integrity and the public's
trust. Not only should we vote the bums out of office,
we shouldn't be voting them in.
