Michael Joseph
Gross makes some valid points concerning Barack Obama's
less-than-complete support of some gay issues, but I would
ask any gay voters if they think that McCain, who has
come out against gay adoption let alone gay marriage,
is a better choice? All of us need to remember that
the new president will nominate the next judges to sit on
the Supreme Court and the judges most likely to
retire, like Ruth Bader Ginsberg, are the most
liberal. These new judges will probably decide on a
host of issues affecting gay people, including gay marriage.
Do you want John McCain to nominate those judges? Do
you want a Republican house and senate to vote on
those nominations? I strongly urge all gay people to
think very seriously about this election and urge all their
friends, relatives, and co-workers, gay and straight,
to do the same. It will affect how we as gays live our
lives for the next generation.
