On his visit to the United Kingdom -- a country that just issued a travel warning about anti-LGBT animus in North Carolina and Mississippi -- President Obama was asked how the United States and the United Kingdom can make improve life for those who don't fit the gender binary.

The question was posed during a youth town hall by a Muslim trans youth, who described fighting for change while still attending university. The president was impressed by the student's efforts and praised Prime Minister David Cameron on his LGBT-related positions.

When the student asked about the recent anti-LGBT legislation in North Carolina, the president explained why his hands were tied on the issue, but also ended his response on a positive note. Watch below, via JoeMyGod.
