Speaking on The Tonight Show on Thursday, True Detective actor Colin Farrell expressed joy at the passage of marriage equality in his native country of Ireland.

The audience cheered when Jimmy Fallon mentioned that Irish voters passed a marriage equality referendum last month. Farrell, who previously lent his support to an LGBT youth organization in Ireland, told the crowd that his brother is happily wed to another man. The actor also took a light-hearted jab at the Catholic Church, which was adamantly against the passage of marriage equality. Watch the clip below, via JoeMyGod:
