Keith Olbermann has dubbed Tony Dungy the "Worst Person" of the day in the sports world.
The ESPN2talking head Monday gave the former NFL coach and NBC commentator the dunce cap for his recent remarks to The Tampa Tribune on the drafting of Michael Sam.
"I wouldn't have taken him," the former Indianapolis Colts and Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach said of the out gay football player. "Not because I don't believe Michael Sam should have a chance to play, but I wouldn't want to deal with all of it."
Olbermann turned Dungy's own words against him, saying, "'I wouldn't want to deal with it, things will happen,' is remarkably similar to what football coaches and owners said until 1946 about players who looked like Tony Dungy. And it's remarkably similar to what owners said until 1989, about guys who wanted to become NFL head coaches who looked like Tony Dungy."
The Olbermann host also pointed out the hypocrisy of Dungy claiming he would "not want to deal with all of it," since in the past he publicly supported disgraced football player Michael Vick after he was convicted of crimes related to cruelty to animals.
"To Mr. Dungy, whatever the distractions Michael Vick presented, they were nothing compared to the distractions Michael Sam might present," Olberman said.
"Tony Dungy just admitted that Tony Dungy isn't a skilled enough coach to deal with the distractions of doing the right thing," he ultimately concluded.
