Alabama singer-songwriter, Kristy Lee, who is out, has alleged that singer Heath Sanders attacked her and yelled homophobic slurs at her on Saturday night at a venue in Decatur, Ga.
On Monday, Sanders released a statement on social media saying that it was "another performer" that had been "the aggressor."
Both acts had played the venue, Eddies Attic, that Saturday night, according to Taste of Country.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, Lee wrote, "Last night after my show at Eddie's Attic I was physically assaulted in the greenroom by an artist named Heath Sanders. He not only physically assaulted me, he used multiple homophobic slurs against me."
Lee added that Sanders's guitar player may have been involved.
"I was hit multiple times in the side and back of the head, as well as choked," Lee said. She said a police report had been filed.
On Instagram, Sanders defended himself against the accusations. Sanders also said he did not use any slur and that Lee had tried to spit and bite him.
He said in the post, "The type of physical contact she described on social media did not occur, and no charges were filed against me."
