Naruki Kukita’s work has an intensity about it. The devotion and labor shows. He has mastered the ability to render beautifully in different mediums while retaining a shocking freshness in his work. His excruciating detail makes his life as depicted on Instagram all the more enjoyable. He may be a disciplined artist in the studio, but he is obviously having a great time enjoying being a young and talented man in the middle of the gay art scene in New York City.
Kukita was born in Japan and currently lives in New York City. He received a BFA from Tama Art University in Tokyo and has attended the Art Students League and the National Academy School of Fine Arts, both in New York City. He has participated in many exhibitions and gallery shows in New York, and his artwork has been published in Velvet Magazine, Spank Magazine, Mary, Tri-State Magazine, Next Door, and more.
