The onePULSE Foundation -- the nonprofit preserving the legacy of the deadly June 12, 2016, attack on the Pulse nightclub in Orlando that claimed 49 lives -- is seeking the public's help in deciding the future of the monument to this tragedy.
Six concept designs (below) have been submitted for the National Pulse Memorial & Museum as part of an international design contest -- and members of the public have until October 10 to provide feedback. The designs from six semifinalist firms were created after months of research and input from community members.
These comments will help inform a jury of onePULSE members, world-renowned architects, and community and global leaders to choose a final design. The winning design will be announced October 30.
"Community involvement and engagement is at the core of everything we do. We invite the public to view the concept designs and share their feedback because their voice is essential in helping select the winning team" said onePULSE Foundation CEO Barbara Poma. "The concept design viewing marks the next major milestone in the creation of the National Pulse Memorial & Museum, which will honor the 49 lives taken and pay tribute to all those impacted by the tragedy while ensuring that future generations never forget."
Members of the public can leave their comments on each design at OnePulseFoundation.org or in person at the Linda W. Chapin Gallery inside the Orange County Regional History Center in Orlando from October 3 to 10, where presentation models are also on display.
