Christopher Makos has lived in his utilitarian West Village apartment for over 40 years. In that time he has traveled the globe more than a few times, been Man Ray's right hand man, and clued Any Warhol into what was hip. He has also been a glamorous object of desire and at 66 still exudes boyish charm.

Debbie Harry said, "Christopher Makos was the first photographer to understand and record the convergence of 'uptown' and 'downtown.'" And that was very apparent in his best-selling 1977 photo book White Trash Uncut. Which was re-released this year by Glitterati.

The images collected here are from Everything Makos, weighing in at 352 pages, with 248 photographs. Included here are iconic Makos images of Georgia O'Keefe, Halston, Liza Minelli, John Lennon, Tennessee Williams, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Lou Reed, Andy Warhol, Elizabeth Taylor, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Pedro Almodovar, Marilyn Chambers, Mick Jagger, as well as many never-before-published images of Vanna White, Erte, Quentin Crisp, Queen Elizabeth II, Michael Jackson.

To get a signed copy of Everything Makos, come to the book signing October 24 at Ron Robinson/Fred Segal, 8118 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles. Check the link for RSVP information.
