After Star Wars: The Force Awakens actor Oscar Isaac told Ellen Degeneres that he saw a potential romance between his character, resistance pilot Poe Dameron, and co-star John Boyega's ex-stormtrooper Finn, the internet exploded. Boyega, however, quickly popped the bubble, saying the gay potential power couple only exists "in Oscar's head." Now, according to blogger Perez Hilton, Boyega is singing a new tune.

"I think it's very subtle romance that's happening," Oscar told Ellen last month. "You have to just look very closely you have to watch it a few times to see the little hints but there was. At least I was playing romance. In the cockpit I was playing there was a deep romance there."

Now that Episode VIII of the popular franchise has started filming, Boyega is telling reporters that the two might not be in the friend zone after all.

"What's so funny, I posted a video the other day of myself working out, skipping, and in the background Oscar is just like, 'Yeah baby go on!' and people just went crazy," Boyega said. "But as far as I'm concerned when JJ [Abrams] sat us down to go through the script, it was a bromance. But now I'm learning what Mark Hamill said before when he didn't know that Darth Vader was Luke's father -- you never know what they're going to pull."

And as for Hamill himself, he says his character's sexuality is "whatever the audience wants it to be.'

The movie will hit screens in December 2017. So far the latest installment of the long running franchise has brought in over $2 billion worldwide.
