The turbaned brothers flank a beardo.
When the Boulet brothers relocated to Los Angeles in 2001 from deep within the downtown party world of NYC, they saw a serious lack of fun in SoCal nightlife. So they have created their own dazzling version of the Weimar Republic cabaret world with clubs and events like Miss Kitty’s, Dragula, Beardo Weirdo, and their most recent cabaret and performance event at Precinct DTLA, Queen Kong, which began on Friday nights last fall.
The brothers, Dracmorda and Swanthula Boulet, partners in all possible perceptions of the word, prefer to keep their noms de bizarres, retaining an air of mystery. But there is no mystery as to why their clubs are so popular: muscles and beards, nerds and drags, freaks and geeks — in other words, all are welcome. Everyone knows that the best parties have a wide mix. And the crowd never knows what gonzo entertainment is scheduled. From drag wrestlers to snake charmers to gender contortionists — nothing is too off the wall for this curated crowd.
Follow them on Facebook and follow their events page here to stay up to date.
