The comedian slams her former friend after he denounced her controversial photo shoot.
After cutting ties with one-time Harvey Weinstein attorney Lisa Bloom, Kathy Griffin gave an interview to The Daily Beast about the far-reaching affects of the firestorm that engulfed her after she posed with a mock severed head of Donald Trump.
Griffin spoke about her disappointment with Bloom, who represented Griffin after images surfaced of the comedian posing with the bloodied "head"; Bloom also organized a disastrous press conference following the incident.
After the scandal cost Griffin her New Year's Eve hosting gig alongside longtime friend Anderson Cooper, she was deeply hurt by his criticism on social media.
\u201cFor the record, I am appalled by the photo shoot Kathy Griffin took part in. It is clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate.\u201d— Anderson Cooper (@Anderson Cooper) 1496194008
In The Daily Beast interview, Griffin referenced Cooper as "the Spineless Heiress." Cooper's mother, clothing designer Gloria Vanderbilt, is the great-great-great granddaughter of industrial revolutionary Cornelius Vanderbilt. He told Peoplein a 2016 interview with her that he will not inherit the fortune.
Andy Cohen will replace Griffin on the CNN New Year's broadcast.
