Sit down New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, and pay attention to the one-word city named Chicago. Read more below.
Thursday, October 19 marked an anniversary of the Stardust collective, a group of queer Chicago artists that have been curating nightlife events at Berlin Nightclub every Thursday for the past nine years.
Stardust curator Scott Cramer and his amazing group of collaborators gathered for an intersectional and immersive event. The night represented Stardust in its current iteration, focusing on diversity in all its forms and giving a platform to marginalized voices, especially queer people of color (Black Girl Magic, Bad Beti's), transgender and nonbinary folks (IT Presents) and people on the femme spectrum and identity (Femme's Room, Rosebud), and more. The cast included some of Chicago's most creative artists, DJs and performers -- the lineup is stacked with names like Harry Cross, Ariel Zetina, [X]P, Dida Ritz, Lucy Stoole, Imp Queen, Bon Bon, Eda Yorulmazoglu, London Jade, Abhijeet and more.
Stardust and all its collaborators present an opportunity for an amazing dialogue, especially in the current political climate, carving out a truly unique and shared space in Chicago.
