YouTube sensation Gigi Lazzarato, a.k.a. "Gigi Gorgeous" is one star who's hard to miss. After coming out as a gay male in her teens, the viral sensation later came out as a transgender female, documenting the journey for her near 2.5 million YouTube subscribers.
Now she's coming out again.
In a new interview with People, Gorgeous explained how falling in love with model and activist Natalia "Nats" Getty reminded her that life should always be about growth.
"It's crazy how life takes you on these roads that you'd never expect," she said. "I never thought I'd fall for a girl. But I wouldn't change it for the world."
Gorgeous's ex-boyfriend, internet personality Cory Binney, also made an impression on her life. "I was new to living life as my authentic self," she recalled of her relationship with Binney, "so when I found someone who accepted me, I was on top of the world."
Last year, Gorgeous made headlines after being detained at a Dubai airport because she is trans. A security officer classified her as a man "imitating" a woman, which is illegal in the United Arab Emirates, where Dubai is located, and would not let her enter the country.
Gorgeous's journey to living as her true self is documented in the new film This Is Everything: Gigi Gorgeous, available on YouTube Red.
