The Advocates Podcast: Trans Man Jackson Bird on Sharing Transgender Voices

On the latest episode of The Advocates podcast, the show dedicated to LGBTQ issues across generations, transgender YouTube creator and LGBT activist Jackson Bird joins cohosts Tracy E. Gilchrist and Jessie Earl. Bird is known for his past work with the Harry Potter Alliance, a nonprofit that uses fandoms to help create social change. He was named the Social Media Warrior Who Helped Restore Our Faith by MTV in 2016. He recently won the Turner Visionary Grant from the GLAAD Rising Stars Grant Program to help fund the second season of his transgender-focused series, Transmission.

On The Advocates, Jackson talks about coming out as transgender after having gained a following on YouTube, how he hopes to share transgender stories with cisgender listeners, and what it was like gaining male privilege as a trans man.
