Demi Lovato Apologizes for Trivializing Sexual Assault
Fans grilled Lovato about hiring a woman to make advances to her bodyguard.
During a Q&A on social media Sunday night, Demi Lovato fielded a host of fan questions. Her response to one follower asking about the "funniest prank" she's ever pulled sparked an immediate backlash against the singer for trivializing sexual assault. In a now-deleted tweet, the pop star said she once hired a "lady of the night" to surprise her bodyguard. Lovato describes a situation where the sex worker entered Lovato's bodyguard's room without permission and forcibly grabbed the man's crotch. According to HuffPost, fans were quick to accuse Lovato of orchestrating sexual harassment and assault, not to mention disrespecting her employee. Eventually, Lovato apologized for the insensitive tweet, writing, "So sorry if anyone was offended."
