In their first podcast interview, Dominique Provost-Chalkley and Katherine Barrell, who play the female couple Waverly Earp and Nicole Haught (Wayhaught) on Syfy's Wynonna Earp, sat down with The Advocates podcast hosts Jessie "Gender" Earl and Tracy E. Gilchrist to discuss the responsibility they feel in portraying a queer couple, how they learned their characters were LGBT, the fan reaction to the relationship, and depicting women with various kinds of strength. Wynonna Earp, which was just renewed for a fourth season, airs Fridays at 9 p.m. Eastern on Syfy.

Earl and Gilchrist also catch up on the LGBT news out of this year's San Diego Comic-Con, including the casting of TV's first transgender superhero in Supergirl, the problem with Johnny Depp in the latest Fantastic Beasts movie, and the controversy around James Gunn being fired as the director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
