Hollywood royalty Jamie Lee Curtis has spoken for the first time about her youngest child, Ruby, being transgender (with her permission), and how Ruby's transition changed the way she understands gender.
In an interview with AARP Magazine, the Halloween actor shared that she and her husband Christopher Guest "have watched in wonder and pride as our son became our daughter Ruby," and that she was able to toss out that "old idea" that gender is fixed.
Curtis also shared that there are wedding bells on the horizon for her daughter. "She and her fiance will get married next year at a wedding that I will officiate," Curtis told AARP.
The 25-year-old Ruby is a computer gaming editor, and Curtis's eldest daughter, 34-year-old Annie, is a married dance instructor. While Curtis doesn't have grandchildren yet, she told the publication that she hopes that she will in the future.
