Leslie Jordan shared on his social media that his mother Peggy Ann Griffin Jordan has passed away.

Jordan, who joined Instagram during the pandemic, frequently shared stories about his mother as well as photos of her on his social media. He had returned home to Chattanooga, Tenn., to be near her.

Peggy Ann died May 17, 2022, with her family by her side, according to an obituary. She was 86. Peggy Ann was born and raised in Chattanooga, where she worked as a medical secretary and realtor. In 1953 she married Major Allen Bernard Jordan and had three children: Leslie and his identical twin sisters Jana Lynn and Janet Ann.

The out actor posted a photo of himself with Peggy Ann on Mother's Day with the caption, "Happy Mother's Day, Mama. I turned out 'just a little short' of perfect. I want to wish all the [mamas] a Happy Mothers' Day -- the hardest job on earth. And, for anyone who lost their mother, our hearts are with you and I will share mine. Love. Light. Leslie."

It was a sentiment Jordan echoed in his post sharing the news she had died.

"We lost mama but she will live on forever in our memories and stories. Love you, mama, and always will. Love. Light. Your, Leslie," he wrote.

In his video, Jordan also shared two funny stories about his mother mishearing things. It's prompted an outpour of love from friends, followers, and celebrities alike.

"Oh honey covering you and the fam," wrote Kim Fields.

"So sorry. My prayers are with you and your family," wrote Dylan McDermott.

And Cheyanne Jackson wrote simply, " I love you."

Memorial services for Peggy Ann are being held Tuesday.
