The new season of The L Word: Generation Q is set to feature an extensive list of celebrity guest stars. Among them are Grammy and Emmy-nominated comedian Margaret Cho, Joey Lauren Adams, Emmy nominee Joanna Cassidy, as well as Grammy-nominated singer Kehlani. Former guest stars Rosie O'Donnell and Laurel Holloman will also return in recurring roles.

Showtime announced that the reboot of the iconic sapphic show will return on November 18 on streaming and on-demand. Season 3 will air beginning on Sunday, November 20, at 8 p.m. ET. New episodes will drop every Friday for streaming and on-demand and every Sunday on-air. The season's first four episodes will air on Showtime at 8 p.m. ET on Sundays with the last six premiering at 10 p.m. ET on Sundays.

"I'm so excited to have these icons join our sparkly cast!" Marja-Lewis Ryan, showrunner and executive producer for Generation Q, said in a press release.

Other executive producers include Ilene Chaiken, Jennifer Beals, Kate Moennig, and Leisha Hailey. The reboot follows original characters Bette (Beals), Alice (Hailey), and Shane (Moennig) while also telling the stories of a new crew of LGBTQ+ characters who span a breadth of diversity within in the community.

The series second season explored new relationships for the three originals with Bette finding a formidable match in artist Pippa Pascal (Vanessa Estelle Williams), Shane finally acting on that undeniable chemistry with Tess (Jamie Clayton), and newly published author Alice in a romance with her book editor Tom (Donald Faison). Newer characters to the L Word world Dani (Arienne Mandi) and Gigi (Sepideh Moafi) became a fan favorite couple as did Leo Sheng's Micah and Jillian Mercado's Maribel. The second season also touched on loving someone dealing with alcoholism with Rosannay Zayas's Sophie and Jacqueline Toboni's Finley.

Among the season 2 cliffhangers was a will they or won't they get back together between Bette and her L Word original true love, Tina (Laurel Holloman), whose engagement to Rosie O'Donnell's Carrie became rather complicated. Meanwhile, Dani was arrested at Gigi's family dinner for failing to show up to testify in her father's criminal case.
