Out actor Luke Evans has responded to rumors that he may be the next James Bond.

Evans, 43, has been regularly discussed by the media as a potential replacement for Daniel Craig who wrapped up his tenure playing the character in the film No Time To Die. Evans would be the first out gay actor to play the sexy, suave MI6 agent.

Discussing the possibility with Bustle, Evans downplayed how his sexuality would fit in the role.

"I don't know what the current temperature is with audiences, whether they care enough to worry about what James Bond does in the bedroom," he said. "I don't think it really matters at all to the character if I'm really honest."

Lashana Lynch played a Black woman 007 in the previous film. Previously, James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli said that Bond could be nonbinary in a future film.

"I think it's open, you know? We just have to find the right actor," Broccoli said at the time.

She added that the most important quality for an actor to play Bond is being British. "I think British is the key thing. British, as we know, can be many, many things."

Well, Evans is British -- from South Wales to be exact. That settles it, right?
