Editor's note: this article contains spoilers from the final episodes of Agatha All Along.

The two-episode finale event of Agatha All Along featured a kissing scene between Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) and Rio Vidal, a.k.a. Death (Aubrey Plaza), two superpowered characters from the Marvel comic books who have been brought to life in this Disney+ original series — a historic moment for queer representation in the live-action Marvel Cinematic Universe of movies and TV shows.

There was plenty of sexual tension between Agatha and Rio/Death over the course of Agatha All Along. In fact, our gaydars were beeping at max volume since the very first scene when they met each other. One could never be sure, however, if these two sneaky characters were actually being flirtatious or trying to seduce each other for ulterior motives. It turns out that, sometimes, multiple things can be true at the same time — which will surely sound like a groundbreaking concept to "chronically online" fans who operate in absolutes on social media.

Nonetheless, episode 8 does a lot of heavy lifting when it comes to making things crystal clear... and we love to see it! First, Billy literally acknowledges that "Death is Agatha's ex," and it feels significant to hear another character acknowledging the romance between Agatha and Death (rather than questioning if their back-and-forth banter comes from a place of real affection or pure strategy). Episode 8 then literally shows Agatha and Death sharing a passionate kiss, which feels even more intense when considering that we've just watched seven episodes of these two longing for each other but stopping themselves at all times.

There have been other same-sex kisses in the MCU (more on that later!), but this marks the first-ever lesbian kiss between two superpowered characters in the live-action Marvel continuity. And if you ask us, this is absolutely the best and most exciting gay moment we've ever seen in this entire franchise so far. This kiss is everything!!!

Different clips of Agatha and Death kissing are being endlessly shared all over social media by MCU fans who are excited about this moment finally happening.

As previously mentioned, the MCU has featured other same-sex kisses before — just never one quite like this!

For instance, Netflix's Jessica Jones series had a kiss (and things got spicy!) between Jeri Hogarth (Carrie-Anne Moss) and her former assistant/girlfriend, Pam (Susie Abromeit). The 2021 film Eternals had a kiss between Phastos (Brian Tyree Henry) and his husband, Ben (Haaz Sleiman). And just a few episodes ago, Agatha All Along had an on-screen kiss between Billy Kaplan (a.k.a. Billy Maximoff, a.k.a. Wiccan) and his high school boyfriend, Eddie (Miles Gutierrez-Riley).

This WandaVision spinoff gave us everything we wanted, everything we needed, and so much more. It's official: Agatha All Along is one of our favorite shows of the year, one of the best projects in the entire MCU franchise, and a VERY queer-inclusive series that will hopefully make way for much more diversity in this Marvel universe.

Young Avengers, we're coming for ya, babes!

All episodes of Agatha All Along are now streaming on Disney+.
