Benjamin Fredrickson's unique Polaroid images document his years as a sex worker in the Midwest and New York City. The pictures capture feelings ranging from longing and fevered desire to a desultory gaze, distanced and factual.
The net result of the collection of images, in many of which Fredrickson is included, is a depiction of the desire for connection and to be seen and recorded.
The show at Daniel Cooney Fine Art in New York City includes much more explicit work than is seen here, so it is recommended for a mature audience.
