Bowen Yang, out star of Saturday Night Live (SNL) and Hulu’s Fire Island, announced that he’s taking a break from his podcast Las Culturistas with Matt Rogers due to prioritizing his mental health.

In a recent Instagram story, Yang said that he was pausing work on the podcast because of having depersonalization episodes.

The 32-year-old actor and comedian wrote, "Taking a very short break from [Las Culturistas]. Bad bouts of depersonalization are f*cking me up bad, but I am doing my best to get better! Please take care, be soon."

Depersonalization is a condition where individuals frequently experience a sense of detachment from their own bodies, understanding their surroundings as unreal, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Yang has been co-hosting Las Culturistas with Rogers since 2016. The show features comedic discussions about significant moments in pop culture along with celebrity guests.

The comedian previously told People that his parents sent him to conversion therapy when he was a teen. It caused a major riff between him and his parents.

"There was a huge chasm of misunderstanding ... It pushed me into questioning what it meant, what was protected, and what I should be protective about in terms of being a queer person. I don't take it for granted," he told the magazine.
