Some Men, playwright Terrence McNally's new musically tinged comedy-drama about the current state of gay America, begins previews in Philadelphia May 12, reports Playbill.com. Booked to run at the Philadelphia Theatre Company until June 11 with an opening night of May 17, Some Men will star Malcolm Gets, Barbara Walsh, John Glover, and Stephen Bogardus.

"Funny and touching, Some Men looks at the evolution of gay relationships and same-sex marriage in America," the Philadelphia Theatre Company told Playbill.com. "From the Harlem Renaissance to the Stonewall riots and beyond, Some Men celebrates where we've been and where we're going."

The openly gay McNally is a four-time Tony winner who has penned the books to stage classics including Love! Valour! Compassion!, Ragtime, and Kiss of the Spider Woman. He's currently working on the book for the musical Catch Me if You Can and most recently wrote the book to Chita Rivera: The Dancer's Life. (The Advocate)
