After all the receipts were counted for Elton John's five-day charity clothing sale, the pop star's flashy duds managed to pull in more than $700,000 for AIDS charities.

The proceeds from the sale of 10,000 pieces of couture and outrageous rock star garb, which took place at New York's Rockefeller Center, will go to the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

The fund-raiser featured personal items from John and his partner, David Furnish, including $15 T-shirts, a $5,000 cashmere coat, pieces by Versace and Gucci, and the polka-dot suit John wore during his Grammy duet with Eminem. (The Advocate)
